Asked A Questions for Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Casein
Q. When should I take this casein protein?
A. It’s best taken before bed or between meals when you’ll go an extended period without food to prevent muscle breakdown.
Q. Can I use this as my only protein source?
A. No, it’s recommended to use a faster-absorbing whey or blend with meals and for post-workout recovery. Casein should supplement those proteins.
Q. Is this good for weight loss?
A. While not specifically a weight loss product, the slow protein release can promote feelings of fullness which may aid weight management when combined with a calorie-controlled diet.
Q. How do I take it?
A. Mix 1 scoop (34g) with 10-12 oz of cold milk, water, or your beverage of choice. A shaker cup or blender works well.
Q. Does it contain lactose?
A. It contains only trace amounts of lactose since it’s produced from milk using an ultra-filtering process.
Q. How long is one container good for?
A. The 4lb tub contains about 49 servings, so it could last over a month and a half with once-daily use.

Zach Lent –
The ingredients seem decent to good quality, but the flavors I’ve tried, like cookies & cream and chocolate, aren’t the greatest. Cookies & cream mix well, but in taste, it may be not. Chocolate doesn’t blend smoothly and clumps easily, but it tastes better than cookies. ON’s ingredients are solid, but I might mix in some peanut butter powder or cinnamon for better flavor.
